Konkan Education Society was established in the year 1917 with the aim of providing the education facilities to the people of Konkan region. It was specially aimed at developing all kinds of educational institutes not only in urban areas but in the remote villages too. its purpose and has grown into the big educational centers having 21 Primary Schools,52 Secondary Schools, 7 Sr. Colleges of Arts, Commerce & Science and Professional Colleges like 2 Medical Colleges. It was named as K.E.S. Adv. Datta Patil Homoeopathic Medical College, Vengurla. This College started functioning in 1989, under the governance of Konkan Education Society.
